
In the wake of a terrorist attack on a CRPF camp in Rampur district of neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, a high alert has been sounded in Uttarakhand. Search operations have been going on in Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts, bordering Rampur, to thwart any attempt by terrorists to enter the state. Uttarakhand Director General of Police DGP Subhash Joshi said that district police chiefs of Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts are heading the search operations. 8220;We are in constant touch with our counterparts in Uttar Pradesh,8221; he said, adding that security at all establishments, armouries, police stations, camps of armed police and para-military forces have been beefed up following the attack. Joshi said that security arrangements on the Indo-Nepal border have also been strengthened, keeping in view the proposed elections in Nepal.
