
CHANDIGARH, Dec 4: A 16-member Chandigarh team will take part in under-14 boys cricket tournament in the forthcoming National School Games to be held in Uttar Pradesh. The players are currently undergoing coaching camp at Govt Model School-32.
Team: Deepak Saini, Karan Kharwal, Raj Angad Singh, Mannat Wadehra, Siddharth Sharam, Gurkirat Singh, Sumeet Ohri, Ankush Saini, Sangam Pandey, Sanju Thapa, Amit Kumar Sharma, Simarjeet SIngh Sidhu, Harmanpreet Singh, Gaurav Gambhir, Vishu Arora and Rajnish Sharma.
UT b8217;ball trials
The UT Education Department will conduct trials in basketball under-19, kabaddi under-14, under-17 boys and girls and badminton in under-14 boys section from December 9, to select outstanding players to represent Chandigarh in the National School Games competitions.
Selection process in basketball and kabaddi in boys group will be held at Sector 7 Sports Complex and Govt High School-22, on December 9 at 3 p.m.Trials in badminton under-14 will be organised at Sector 42 Indoor Badminton Hall. The department had conducted trials earlier also in badminton but some players could not report due to unavoidable circumstances, therefore the trials are being held again, said an official of the education department.
In the girls group, trials will be held on December 10, at the same venues, at 3 p.m.
PU judo competition
The Panjab University Inter-College judo competition men and women will be held at PU Indoor Hall on December 13 and 14. According to a spokesman of the PU Sports Department, weighing-in will be held on December 12, at PU Indoor Hall. In the women8217;s group the weigh-in will begin from 3 p.m., while in the men8217;s section it will start from 4 p.m., at the venue.
