CALCUTTA, DEC 25: Uttar Pradesh boys repeated their feat emerging winners in the team events of the 39th National Junior Gymnastics Championship keeping far behind second spot holders Bengal followed by Tripura at the SAI Complex in Salt Lake here today.
Earlier in the day, under-15 Bengal girls retained the title leaving behind Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
With this, UP emerged champions for the second time in a row.
Hosts Bengal, however, improved their last year8217;s performance scoring 471 and Tripura took third spot with 462 points in the boys section.
Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana took fourth, fifth and sixth spots respectively.
Bengal8217;s Anshuman Banerjee with 98 points and Somnath Kolay with 96 helped the state amass 471 points in the boys8217; category.
