Can women understand the complex world of finance, stocks and shares, and the Sensex? Or should they be confined to watching saas bahu serials?
Shona Urvashi8217;s second film has a whopper of an idea. And stalwarts fronting it. Kirron Kher is the divorced, desperately-in-need-of-money Binita Sen, who fetches up at the door of Feroz Sethna, an eccentric out-of-work stock broker Farooque Sheikh. He is rude and brusque. She is angry and annoyed. And then it turns into a profitable partnership, professional and personal.
The interplay between these two consummate actors could have taken Warner Bros8217; first Indian production Saas Bahu Aur Sensex to an interesting place. But the director sends out confusing signals by gathering up a bunch of kitty party aunties, converting them from couch potatoes to eager pink paper-reading stock hounds, and then letting them slip, and lose money. In between, youngsters working today8217;s jobs crop up. Tanushree Dutta and Ankur Khanna are call-centre execs. Masumeh is a femme fatale, who wants money, not love.
In the end, it8217;s all-over-the place and indeterminate. What makes up for the rest of it is watching the inimitable Farooq in a full-fledged role, and Kirron as a non-stereotyped Bollywood mom.
