145;Unwed mother146; accepts CBI report, case ends

After 13 months of suspense, a CBI probe and court proceedings in the 8216;8216;unwed mother8217;8217; scandal, a CBI court today accepted the plea submitted by Jenny, the Assamese girl, that she accepts the probe thus putting an end to the case.

Indira Deuri, alias Jenny, had created a political furore in Uttaranchal when she alleged in June 2003 that former state Revenue minister Harak Singh Rawat had raped her and was the father of her child.

Rawat had resigned after the allegations and the state government had ordered a CBI probe.
