The ULFA on Saturday assured it would not cause any disruption to the much-hyped first one-day international cricket match between India and Pakistan to be held at the Nehru Stadium here on Monday.

A press statement was issued by ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa, who said his outfit had “great respect” for sports and sportsmen, and welcomed the “huge-talented” international cricketers to the state.

“We have great respect for sports and sportsmen in general and particularly for internationally acclaimed cricketers of both the teams that are going to play the match at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati on Monday. We welcome the hugely talented international cricketers to the state,” Rajkhowa, in his brief statement e-mailed to newspaper office here on Saturday said.
