Launching a scathing attack on Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray, Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane on Friday described him as a 8220;man without confidence8221;.

8220;Uddhav lacks self-confidence as a person. How can he take care of the party?8221; Rane told reporters on the sidelines of a workers convention here.

8220;If I was Balasaheb8217;s son, I would have avoided bringing him Bal Thackeray to Shivaji Park and making him speak at the Dussehra rally. It could be seen that Saheb is really not in good health,8221; he said. 8220;As his son I would have assured him that I would carry forward his work in the same manner as he did for 42 years.8221;

Lashing out at the Sena leader for saying that Mumbai belongs to 8220;our fathers8221;, Rane asked, 8220;How can Mumbai belong to people who do not pay taxes? Our fathers8217; names are also there on the land records and property cards.8221;

Rane also said that Uddhav8217;s speech at Thursday night8217;s rally was 8220;useless8221;. 8220;He has spoken nothing except criticising Raj Thackeray, myself and the Congress. He has not outlined any agenda for the development of Mumbai and Maharashtra,8221; he said.

Speaking on the occasion earlier, Maharashtra Congress Campaign Committee Chairman Gurudas Kamat wondered aloud if Uddhav had purchased all of Mumbai. 8220;Rane, who is the Revenue Minister, should check the land records to see if Uddhav and his family have purchased the megapolis. Mumbai belongs to our fathers also and to the entire country,8221; he said.
