
PANCHKULA, April 5: The city police have arrested Om Chand, a resident of Tirlokpur, for possessing 10 bottles of liquor. The Raipur Rani police have registered a case against him under the Excise Act.
Meanwhile, Surinder Singh, a resident of Bir Dhagdhar, in his complaint to the police, said that his scooter was hit by a speeding truck near Ramgarh. The scooterist and the pillion rider were injured in the accident. The Ramgarh police have registered a case against the truck driver under Section 279, 337 IPC.
In another incident, a resident of Delhi, Anil Bhaskar has registered a complaint stating that his Tata Sumo was hit by a speeding truck near Fatehgarh village. Though no one was injured in the accident, his vehicle was badly damaged. The truck driver, Madan Singh, a resident of Kakrali, has been booked by the Raipur Rani police and a case registered.
Meanwhile, a Sector 4 resident, Anil Bharadwaj has registered a complaint against a taxi driver stating that his father, Joginder Pal, was hit by the taxi on November 2, 1998 and was admitted to the PGI, Chandigarh where he died on November 23. The police has registered a case.
In another incident, Sonia, a resident of Sector 2, has registered a complaint with the police stating that her car was badly damaged after it was hit by a speeding truck. A case has been registered.
