CHANDIGARH, May 6: Two deputy superintendents of police and an inspector are among five policemen suspended here today. Meanwhile, UT Inspector-General of Police Kiran Bedi will meet Administrator B.K.N. Chibber tomorrow regarding the case to explain the police view.

Those suspended are DSP Security Subhash Sagar, DSP Traffic D.S. Thakur, inspector P.K. Dhawan, sub-inspector Balihar Singh and a malkhana munshi Yash Pal. Police have yet to recieve the orders. The UT Administration ordered suspensions after they were indicted in Legal Remembrancer Sanjiv Kumar8217;s inquiry into disappearance of files pertaining to the murder of political activist Inder Pal Gupta and city resident Ganpat Rai. The files had disappeared from the Sector 26 police station. While Thakur was then SHO of police station in Sector 26, Dhawan was the investigation officer of the Ganpat Rai case. After Thakur, Sagar took charge as the SHO.

Earlier, an inquiry was marked to the Superintendent of police Baldev Singh in February this year after the files8217; disappearance was brought to officials8217; notice Interestingly, the files were traced later when a policeman pointed out that a room on the upper floor of the police station had not been searched. Both the files were found there.
