Two city-bound passengers drugged, robbed in bus

The robbers seem to have really taken fancy to what appears to be the smoothest way of looting people as umpteen incidents have occurred particularly on the buses on the Chandigarh-Delhi road.

Narrating the incident, one of the victims, Ajay Sharma employed as Finance and Accounts Executive with Vardhman at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, told Newsline that he was looted of a purse containing Rs 2,900 and a gold chain. quot;We boarded the bus from Delhi and sat on the front seat,quot; he said, still feeling pain in his body after a day of blood-vommitting. quot;At Pipli, he bought two packets of juices which looked to be local-made. He offered me one and began sipping the other, and I unsuspectingly accepted it.quot; After a few minutes, he fell unconscious. And recovered from it this morning in the hospital. Apart from his purse and a gold chain, his brief case too was missing. It contained balance sheets of his company which he had taken to Delhi to get them signed by the auditor.

He said his co-passenger, who must have robbed him, looked like in his early 30s. quot;He did not talk too much; he only inquired some general things about me 8211; like where I was coming from and where I was going,quot; Sharma added. quot;He said he lived in Sector 22 here.quot;

Sharma8217;s father S. P. Sharma, living a retired life, said: quot;We8217;ve been telling our son to be watchful of such persons as we keep reading about such incidents. But I suppose it is just your bad luck.quot; He said the local police have been informed of the incident.

Vipin 35 too was robbed in the same way in the same bus. He was offered the packet juice by a co-passenger at Pipli. Vipin, who sells confectionary goods at Shimla, had gone to Delhi regarding his business. He said he lost nearly Rs 8,000 besides a gold chain. His brother Vijay Kumar, however, said that they were not interested in reporting the matter to the police quot;as it is very bothersome.quot;
