Kanchan, 5, and Pannalal, 36, died on the spot. Among the injured, Rambir, Savita, Om Prakash, Sumit, Sumita, Shakuntala and Lakshmi have been admitted to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital.

The truck driver and the tempo driver are absconding. The police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving.

8220;There is no doubt that the truck driver was at fault. But so was the tempo driver. He had parked the vehicle too far out on the road,8221; says a police official.

In the Subzi Mandi Police Station area, a Blueline bus on route number 100 rammed a scooter around 9 a.m. in Malkaganj today. As the scooterist and the pillon-rider fell on the road, the bus, which was still moving, ran over the latter. The scooterist was admitted to a nearby hospital. He is out of danger.

The pillion-rider has been identified as Anil, 23. He is a resident of the the same area where the accident occurred. The police have arrested the driver, Jagdish Prasad, and booked him for rash and negligent driving.
