With the tripartite talks to resolve the Gorkhaland issue slated for Monday, a delegation representing the state government will be leaving for the Capital on Monday morning. The Morcha delegation has already been camping in New Delhi since Saturday.

The state delegation led by Home Secretary Asok Mohan Chakrabarti comprises senior state government officials as well as the Darjeeling district magistrate.

Sources in the government said that the efforts during the talks would be to address the problems put forth by the GJM. 8220;We will try to resolve all issues amicably and ensure that there is a positive outcome from this round of talks,8221; sources said.

While the Morcha has stepped up its agitation demanding a Gorkhaland to be carved out of the existing boundaries of Bengal since the first round of talks in September, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has been reiterating categorically that he is not in favour of this separation.

In a bid to create a conducive atmosphere for Monday8217;s talks, the GJM has relaxed its three-week shutdown of administrative machinery in the Hills.

Before leaving for Delhi, Secretary Roshan Giri said that the talks would highlight the violence in Jalpaiguri8217;s Dooars region earlier this month.
