PATIALA, June 7: Rich tributes were paid to Sikh scholar Harbans Singh on his bhog ceremony, here today.Minister for Higher Education Manjit Singh Calcutta enlisted contributions made by Harbans Singh through his writings.

Calcutta said the panth would not ignore his contributions because his work would prove a light tower for the generations to come.President of the Shriomani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Gurcharan Singh Tohra, who was also present on the occasion, described Harbans Singh a great Sikh who contributed a lot for the welfare of the Sikhism through his writings.

Others who spoke on the occasion include Surjit Singh Kohli Minister for Printing and Stationery, Joginder Singh Puar vice-chancellor, Punjabi University., Patiala, Jasdev Singh Sandhu chairman, Punjab Services Selection Board, G.S. Soch vice-chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Simranjit Singh Mann president, Shriomani Akali Dal-Amritsar, Karnail Singh Dode, Jagmeet Singh Brar former MP, Dalbir Singh chief, Khalsa Diwan. Jathedar of Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Bhai Manjit Singh performed the ardas. Harkesh Singh Sidhu Additional Deputy Commissioner Development was also present on the occasion.
