MUMBAI, AUG 1: Transporters of Maharashtra supplying essential commodities and other products will go ahead with their indefinite strike from mid-night on Sunday, after the third round of talks with the state government failed on Sunday.

The strike has been called by the Maharashtra Rajya Truck Tempo Tankers Bus Vahatuk Mahasangh. Mahasangh President, Mohinder Ghura, says the chief minister was unable to offer a 8220;decent8221; solution to the problem of having to pay steep toll taxes. But Bombay Suburban Water Transport Association BSWTA will not participate in the stir. Its president Parminder Singh says since water is an essential commodity it should be continued to be supplied to consumers, especially residents of Mira-Bhayandar.
