AHMEDABAD, APRIL 19: Shunted for the inept handling of the Ruchi Chavda kidnapping case, Deputy Superintendent of Police R S Yadav may take the State Government by surprise by coming back as Superintendent of Police SP, Central Bureau of Investigation CBI in Gandhinagar.
Yadav was on Saturday posted as vice-principal of the Police Training School, Junagadh.
Highly-placed sources said that the post of Superintendent of Police CBI would fall vacant in a couple of days as the present incumbent, B S Kanwar, has been transferred to Delhi. He will be relieved of his charge in a day or two. On the other hand, after facing humiliation in the Ruchi Chavda kidnapping case, Yadav has decided to go on deputation to the CBI.
Sources further said Yadav8217;s appointment at Gandhinagar might cause resentment among some senior officials in Sachivalaya and politicians who were unhappy with the way the kidnapping case was handled.
Yadav will have little to do with the investigation of the kidnapping case even if he gets the CBI posting. For that is to be handled by the special crime branch of CBI, based in Mumbai.
