
At least 25 people, including five policemen, were injured on Tuesday in clashes that erupted during the Kashmir bandh called by the separatist Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front to protest the fake encounters and custodial killings in the Valley, official sources said. Fifteen activists of moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference were also detained.
Meanwhile, a total shutdown of shops and business establishments, and dharnas marked the bandh.
Hundreds of people demonstrated at Bhaderwah and demanded that bodies buried in the erstwhile Tourist Reception Centre in Bhaderwah in Doda district be exhumed for a probe. They also demanded stern action against against SP Ganderbal, HR Parihaar and his junior officers charged in the fake encounters.
