Actress Priyanka Chopra says that 'Fashion' is Madhur Bhandarkar's most positive film till date.

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who is playing the lead in Madhur Bhandarkar8217;s upcoming film 8216;Fashion8217;, says it is director8217;s most positive film till date. 8220;I think 8216;Fashion8217; is the most positive film to come from Madhur. After 8216;Chandni Bar8217; it is for the first time that emphasis is on a particular character rather than a particular subject. Fashion industry is just a backdrop,8221; said Priyanka.

Madhur Bhandarkar is known for exploring the dark side of society through his films like 8216;Chandni Bar8217;, 8216;Corporate8217; 8216;Page-38217; and 8216;Traffic Signal8217;. When asked about the rumours of possible expose of the industry through the film, Priyanka says, 8220;It is nothing like that. Whatever problems that come up to my character in the film are not because of the profession but because of the choices that my character makes in her life.8221; The actress, however, admits that the film has a casting couch scene.

8220;Yes, there is a scene when the character is approached with such offer but again it has been depicted in a positive light because the model refuses the offer and decides to stand up on her own,8221; Priyanka says.

Talking about the film receiving an 8216;A8217; certificate by the Censor Board, the actress says too much hype is being created around the issue. 8220;The board had objections to certain drug abuse scenes. Madhur had the choice to cut those scenes or take an A certificate. He agreed with the later and I support his decision,8221; Priyanka clarifies.

8220;We are not trying to glorify the drugs in the film but have tried to give a positive message. In fact, Madhur8217;s previous films had bigger drug abuse scenes. Censor has probably become strict following the recent smoking ban,8221; she says.

Priyanka plays the character of a small town girl, Meghna Mathur, who is very ambitious, strong headed and emotional girl. The film traces her Phoenix like rise and fall as a model in the fashion industry.

8220;My character is of a very strong headed girl. While her father wants her to become an accountant she aspires to become the leading model in fashion industry,8221; says the actress.

Priyanka, however, says she was initially reluctant to do the film. 8220;It took me six months to say yes to Madhur. Though I loved my character I was not convinced whether I would be able to portray the character properly. But Madhur had tremendous faith in me,8221; Priyanka says.

The year has not been very lucky for the actress, whose two major films 8216;Love Story 20508217; and 8220;Drona8221; bombed at the box-office. But Priyanka is not intimidated by these disappointments and hopes that 8216;Fashion8217; would make a huge impact.

8220;I think every film comes with its own luck. Diwali has always been lucky for me. Two of my films 8216;Aitraaz8217; and 8216;Don8217; were Diwali releases and they were very successful. I hope the same with 8220;Fashion8221;. We are going to make a lot many people laugh and cry through the film,8221; she says.

The former Miss World is also keeping her fingers crossed for her next release 8216;Dostana8217; with John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan. 8220;I can not say much about the story but it is the story of three friends who are always together in what they do. It is a romantic fun comedy,8221; she says. Her bold look in the film is already creating a buzz. 8220;I am very happy to get so many compliments for my look in the film,8221; Priyanka says.
