Tiwari146;s men on tenterhooks

Tension prevailed in Congress circles after the meeting of the panel, set up by the AICC to help downsize state governments, was postponed on Thursday Uttaranchal CM N.D. Tiwari cancelled his trip to New Delhi after the postponement. The meeting is likely to be held after Congress chief Sonia Gandhi returns from vacation on July 2.

Several state ministers have been camping in Delhi after putting in their papers. Of the 17 ministers, five have to be dropped to meet the constitutional requirement. The CM said the resignations of only those five ministers would be sent to the Governor.
