CHANDIGARH, April 19: Anshul Kadian of Hans Raj Public School and Jinia Nath of St Xavier8217;s Senior Secondary School claimed first positions in the boys and girls categories respectively in the under 8 and 10 section in the Chandigrh state chess championship which concluded at St Xavier8217;s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44 premises today.

Anshul outplayed Ravi Gupta while Jinia Nath beat Parneet Kaur to win the girls title.

Andrew Gosian, Principal, St Xavier8217;s School gave away the prizes to the winners.

Results
Anshul Kadian and Ravi Gupta 8212; 4.5 points; Paurush Rautham, Varun Bhardwaj, Naveen Pandeya 8212; 3 points; Jinia Nath, Prateek Jindal, Vibhay Jit Singh Bhatti 8212; 2 points; Parneet Kaur, Himahshu Thakur 8212; 1 point.

Summer cricket
The third Summer Cash and Star Cup cricket tourney will be organised by the Shine Star Club from May 10 here.
