COIMBATORE, May 28: The race for the title is not yet over. The final day on Thursday will decide the fate of the players in the National Children8217;s Chess Championship organised by the Coimbatore District Chess Association at the PSG Tech auditorium here.
RR Laxman and Mahesh Chandran, CV Rajalakshmi, JE Kavitha all from Tamil Nadu and G Soumya of Maharashtra were in the hunt for the title in the under-14 section for boys and girls respectively.
MR Venkatesh of Tamil Nadu and Arghyadip Das of GNCA, Tania Sachdev of Delhi and N Vinuthna of Andhra Pradesh have brightened their chances with seven points from eight rounds in the under-12 section for boys and girls respectively.
CV Rajalakshmi, who stunned top seed JE Kavitha of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, failed to find her form, going down to seventh seed G Soumya in 37 moves.
