MUMBAI, AUG 9: Tisco were rusty and lacked match fitness, yet they pulled off a convincing 77-75 victory over the visiting US team Sports Ambassadors in the first of the three exhibition games at St Andrew8217;s ground, Bandra, today.
Sports Ambassadors were organised and neat, eschewing the errors but Tisco shrugged off their complacent veneer and found enough energy to win. Tisco were taking the field after five months, after their loss in the final of the National championships to Punjab.
Tisco were up 27-17 when Sports Ambassadors made their comeback bid. David Horner drove past the static Tisco defence four successive times to bridge the gap. He also organised the offence with Steve McAdory playing his role of centre well, stealing rebounds from 78217;3quot; Mobin Islauddin.
Just as Tisco seemed to be slipping into uncertainity, they pulled through with Jaldeep Dhaliwal draining his left-handed jumpers and Mobin, despite missing almost all his shots, quick to collect the rebound and score.
