SURAT, March 8: Three persons, including a four-year-old child, were killed in separate road accidents in the district during the past 24 hours.

According to details, in the first case registered at the Uchhal police station, four-year-old Dharmesh Kumar Gamit, a resident of Bhadbhunja village of Uchhal, was crushed under the wheels of a truck GJ 7 U 6313. The boy8217;s grandfather Gumansingh Gamit, in a complaint with the police, stated that Dharmesh was playing beside the Bhadbhunja Bus Stop on Saturday evening he was crushed by a recklessly driven truck.

The truck driver, who could not be identified, fled from the spot. A case under IPC 304 a has been registered, the police said, adding, the truck8217;s registration number had been referred to the RTO to trace the driver. In the second case registered at the Mangrol police station, an unidentified scooterist was knocked down on the state highway beside Keli Kuwa village in Mangrol taluka. One Ashish Vasava, a resident of neighbouring Kalamkui village informed the police of the accident, who have registered a case against the unidentified driver of the tempo GJ 5 T 1415.

In the third fatal accident case registered at the Palsana police station, an unidentified person crossing the highway at Kadodara was killed on the spot under a speeding truck on Saturday night.
