Bangalore, October 17: quot;It8217;s not going to be easy for any pair to beat us in front of our home crowd,8221; the other half of the champion doubles duo in Indian tennis, Mahesh Bhupathi said. Mahesh was at the KSLTA Stadium on Tuesday, the venue of the Legends tournament November 9 to 12 and the ATP Tennis World Doubles championship to apprise himself of the changes the Stadium is currently undergoing.

Bhupathi, fresh from the Indian Express8217; victory in the doubles event of the Japanese Open said the forthcoming ATP World Doubles Championship was not going to be a cake walk. The best team in the world, the Woodies 8212; Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge will be seen in action, he said.

8220;They Woodies play basic doubles and play every shot right. The results speak for themselves,8221; he added.

Leander and Mahesh would rub shoulders with other big names in doubles, like the Woodies Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge, Paul Haarhuis and Sandon Stolle. 8220;We Leander and Mahesh look forward to playing the World Doubles. We start as underdogs,8221; said Mahesh.

Though the pair has played only five tournaments this year, they hope to do better. 8220;We are very excited about playing the tournament. We have to get our rhythm back. We have four more tournaments to go before the big event. So, we have enough time to prepare,8221; Mahesh said.

About their failure in the Olympics, Mahesh said, 8220;The circumstances were bad. We did the best we could. There was a bit of rustiness in our understanding. Nothing actually went wrong. It8217;s just that we played the best team in the world. We gave it our best shot. I think we can still do it in Athens.

About their fitness, he said 8220;We are in pretty good shape but we have to fine tune our doubles. Right now, we are trying to get our ranking back.

About them getting back together, 8220;Everything is okay now and we are concentrating only on tennis,8221; he said.

He said he was happy that the World Doubles was coming to Bangalore. 8220;It would be great that so many players are coming for the Legends and the World Doubles. People will get to watch some big names in action,8221; he said.

When asked that with so much of emphasis on doubles, what was happening to singles, he said, 8220;I want to see how my shoulder goes. If it does not work out then I am going to call it a day in singles.8221;
