TCS wins the 145;Best Theme Award146;

The Tata Consultancy Services team won the 8216;Best Theme award8217; at the 23rd Pune International marathon on Sunday.

For the third consecutive year, TEAM TCS participated in the marathon keeping in line with the theme of leadership for World Aids Day 2008. With placards and banners displaying the theme 8220;Lead by Action; Lead by Example 8211; We care8221;, Team TCS joined the sea of people who took to Pune roads on the glorious Sunday morning and bagged the Best Theme Award. The team had over 350 runners, with 50 in the 10km event, and the rest in the 4.5km 8216;AIDS Charity Run8217;. A special part of the TCS contingent was the energetic group of kids we met through Ekalavya, an NGO that looks after underprivileged children. Through registrations from TCS Pune, the company also contributed Rs. 48,000 to Project Concern International, an NGO working towards HIV/AIDS prevention in Pune.8221;The event was a lot of fun, and what8217;s more, it gave us a means to contribute to society! Throughout the year, TCS Pune is involved in various social initiatives under the aegis of TCS Maitree that include Philanthropy, Concern for stakeholders affected by the business, and using one8217;s core competence to address the needs of large-scale societal problems.
