
Tata Tea has posted a 3.5 per cent decline in profit after tax at Rs 43 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 44.56 crore for the same period last year. Total income of the company increased 14.40 per cent to Rs 303.85 crore for the quarter from Rs 265.58 crore for the corresponding period a year ago. The group8217;s consolidated net profit declined to Rs 45.68 crore for the quarter, as compared to Rs 80.07 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of the group increased to Rs 1,028.79 crore during the period ended June 30 from Rs 806.37 crore a year ago. Shares of the company were trading at Rs 843, down 1.46 per cent, in afternoon trade on the BSE.
Zee Entertainment PAT up three-fold
MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises has reported over three-fold increase in profit after tax at Rs 64.14 crore for the first quarter this fiscal as compared to Rs 18.36 crore for the same quarter of 2006-07. Total income increased 23.42 per cent to Rs 244.32 crore during April-June 2007-08 from Rs 197.95 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. The group recorded a PAT of Rs 81.27 crore in the first quarter as compared to Rs 53.91 crore in the same quarter previous financial year. Total income increased to Rs 412.87 crore from Rs 304.12 crore a year ago. Shares of the company closed at Rs 335.80, down 0.04 per cent on BSE.
LIC Housing PAT up a quarter
MUMBAI: LIC Housing Finance has posted 24.66 per cent increase in profit after tax at Rs 46.70 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 37.46 crore for the same quarter last year. The total income increased 36.06 per cent to Rs 463.53 crore for the quarter ended June 30, from Rs 340.66 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago. Shares of the company closed at Rs 213.95, down 0.53 per cent on the BSE.
Coke records 10 rise in Q2 revenue
NEW YORK: Driven by higher sales volume in India and other emerging markets sch as China, Turkey and Brazil, global soft drink giant Coca-Cola has reported a 19 per cent rise in its second-quarter revenue to 7.73 billion. The net income of the company stood at 1.85 billion for the quarter ended June 30, up by less than 1 per cent from 1.84 billion in the year-ago period. The company reported a worldwide sales growth of 6 per cent, while volume outside the US rose by 9 per cent, the company said in a regulatory filing.
