Taslima gets visa for six more months

Controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen8217;s resident visa has been extended by another six months. Nasreen, who has been staying in Kolkata, had applied for extension of her resident visa which was to have expired on Wednesday, sources in the Union Home Ministry said. Sources said the West Bengal government had forwarded to the Centre the controversial author8217;s appeal to extend her resident permit, as she wanted to continue her stay in Kolkata. Forty-four-year-old Nasreen had applied for an Indian tourist visa last year. She had got an Indian visa for a year and permission to stay in Kolkata.
