CHANDIGARH, Sept 22: Union Telecommunications Minister Sushma Swaraj will inaugurate an Internet node at a function here tomorrow.She will also announce plans to usher in a telecommunications revolution in Haryana. CM Bansi Lal will preside over the function.A telecom department spokesman said the Telecom Minister will reveal a telecommunications and information plan for Haryana, envisaging a Rs 700 crore outlay which would be completed by March 2000. The internet node will have 32 ports and will provide TCP-IP services to over 300 subscribers with modulars expendability. He said that access from all districts headquarters would be introduced accordingly.The emphasis would be laid on providing telecom services to the farthest rural areas by opening 226 telephone exchanges and expanding existing ones. In addition, electronic telephone network would be promoted by introducing computerised and interactive voice response system.
