Salman Insurance, Anyone?

IT is no laughing matter, the panic Salman Khan has caused on film sets. The producers of Samir Karnik8217;s film Kyon8230; Ho Gaya Na?, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai, have made all necessary arrangements in order to protect themselves from untoward incidents during filming. According to the Bollywood grapevine, that film is insured against any ill-fated accidents and damages that might be caused by the unwanted arrival of a certain Mr Muscles. With Aishwarya playing the female lead 8212; and therefore required on sets almost daily 8212; it8217;s not entirely unlikely that her former beau might want to visit. One schedule of the film was completed without any hiccups, and the makers are hoping the rest of the shoot is smooth sailing too.

In Small Doses

IT8217;S finally happened! Rajkumar Santoshi has been trying to put together a project with Aishwarya Rai for ages now. He offered her a special song appearance in Lajja, but that didn8217;t materialise because Sonali Bendre and Urmila Matondkar had also been signed for song-and-dance numbers and Ash thought too many cooks would spoil the broth. He8217;d been negotiating with her to star opposite Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in Rashk, but that project fell through also when the two superstars couldn8217;t adjust dates. But fortunately for him, he8217;s finally nabbed her now, albeit for an ensemble piece titled Khakee, which is already teeming with stars. Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Akshaye Khanna, Jaya Prada and Atul Kulkarni have already signed up to star in this film on corruption in the police force, and now it is learnt that the lovely Ms Rai will also join the cast.

Bachke tu Rehna8230;

CLOSE colleagues and just about everyone else in the filmi business is talking about Sunil Shetty8217;s latest fancy 8212; Isha Koppikar. Apparently the beefy star is so smitten by the Khallas girl, he8217;s been recommending her to the makers of almost every other film he8217;s starring in. One big project he managed to get her is J P Dutta8217;s LOC, in which Isha has been cast opposite him naturally! Last heard, they8217;re doing at least four movies saath saath. Of course Mrs Manaa Shetty is entirely in the dark. As for Isha8217;s former boyfriend, flop-actor Inder Kumar, he8217;s history, she says. As for Priyanshu Chatterjee, who the gossip rags say she was dating until recently, Isha says they8217;re just good friends. Ho hum8230;

Tantrum Tanisha

WHOEVER thought Kareena Kapoor throws the biggest tantrums obviously hasn8217;t met Tanisha Mukherjee aka Tich. Younger sister of Madame Moodswings Kajol, Tanisha had been toying with a career in Bollywood for the last few years. Some months ago, she landed what many would call a dream debut in a forthcoming Rajshri production, but now we hear that the soft-spoken, mild-mannered Barjatyas have shelved that project because they refuse to take any more of Tanisha8217;s high-handed behaviour. According to those in the know, Tanisha was badly behaved and demanding and extremely unprofessional on the sets. She is believed to have caused the producers so much heart-burn that they have dumped the project even though a good 60 per cent has already been shot. Now one hears they might reshoot the entire film with a newcomer called Pooja Kanwal in Tanisha8217;s place.
