Boy found on Ratlam rly platform
The district collectorate has directed the parents of a five-year-old boy named Iqbal to claim him. He was found by the Madhya Pradesh police on the Ratlam railway station platform. The boy has informed the police that his father8217;s name is Kadar Khan, mother8217;s name Bino and maternal uncle8217;s name is Abdulla. Besides stating that he is from Surat, Iqbal has provided no exact address. The parents have been asked to contact the Surat collectorate or the Ratlam collectorate in Madhya Pradesh.

School opened
Union Textiles Minister Kashiram Rana inaugurated the premises of a four-room primary school at Afwa village of Bardoli taluka on Monday. The school has been built with Rs 8 lakhs, donated by villager Dipak Patel. Thanking Patel for the contribution, the minister expressed hope that hundreds of students from Afwa and nearby villages would benefit from his largesse.

Free course
Arena Multimedia, a division of Aptech Limited, will offer a six-day free on-line course Diksha 998242; for students and professionals of Surat and surrounding areas. The course will cover computer basics, office automation, multimedia, DTP and Internet Technology. Free registration will close on June 30. Interested persons should contact the career advisor between 9 am and 7 pm. The classes will be conducted at Arena Multimedia, 8th floor, Maher Park- A, Athwa Gate.

Passengers8217; plea
Taptivalley Railway Season Ticket Holder Association, in a letter to Western Railway authorities, has demanded that two coaches should be attached to the train running between Surat and Bhusaval for season ticket holders. The association has demanded that no passenger train should be delayed on account of working of trains under single rail line.

Lok Darbar
The district administration has organised a Lok Darbar8217; at the collectorate premises on July 2. Guardian minister for Surat district Narottambhai Patel will preside over the darbar that will take up problems received at the collectorate before June 12. The minister will meet officials of departments concerned and MLAs before the darbar.
