Course for teachers
A 21-day inservice course8217; for primary teachers, organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 4, ONGC, was inaugurated by District Collector Sangeeta Singh on Monday at 10 a.m. on the school premises. Group General Manager of ONGC8217;s Hazira Project, S Prasad, and the Assistant Commissioner K V S Ahmedabad region attended the function. School principal Sarita Naswa is the course director. The theme of the course will be 8220;strengthening of primary education and making learning a joyful experience8221;.

Book fair
A three-day 8220;Lokmilap Bal Pustak Melo8221;, organised to create interest in books and literature among children and youth, concluded at Rotary Hall, Timliawad, on Monday. Hundreds of books were made available by National Book Trust and Children8217;s Book Trust at concessional rates.

Syndicate meet
Vadodara: A special syndicate meeting of the M S University will be called on May 21 to look into the admissions of 40 students who were admitted on the basis of bogus caste certificates in the Padra College of Commerce. The committee to look into the bogus admissions was constituted in September.

Memo submitted
A section of M S University8217;s student leaders submitted a memorandum to Vice-Chancellor Anil Kane on Monday asking for the removal of senate member J B Rajput. The V-C has reportedly assured the students that if he was empowered to do so, Rajput would be suspended within the next three days.

Website launch
The Gujarat Electricity Board will not be able to launch its Internet website on Tuesday as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Gopinath Munde, would not be able to attend the function.
