SMC officials dispose of 34 kg farsan
The Surat Municipal Corporation, under its ongoing health drive, registered cases against 29 people for violating cleanliness norms. It also issued warnings to 77 people on Monday. The health officials disposed of 34 kg of farsan and 10 kg of rotten vegetables and collected Rs 8850 as administrative charge from the GIDC area, Rs 2,700 from Katargam Zone, Rs 2,450 from Central Zone and Rs 4,500 from Athwa Zone.

Holi peaceful
Barring two incidents in the city and district, Holi and Dhuleti passed off peacefully amidst heavy police presence. While a woman residing in Ghodbar village of Mangrol taluka died after she was beaten up by her husband during the festivities, a man, residing in a slum in the Umra police station limits, sustained head injuries over a fight on Tuesday.

Legal camp
The Surat Shaher Zila Kanooni Seva Satta Mandal has organised a legal awareness camp on March 4 from 5.30 pm at Limbayat, Mazda Park Society. The District judge, trade union leader Urmila Rana, Police inspector Gulabrao Chaudhary of the Limbayat police stations will speak on Atrocities on Women8217;.

Lok darbar
Surat District in-charge and Water Resource Minister Narottam Patel will hold a lok darbar on March 7 to solve 207 problems relating to 23 government departments. District Collector Sangeeta Singh said the proposed lok darbar will begin at 11 am, where 17 issues concerning to SUDA and SMC, 4 relating to the forest department, 17 about PWD, among others, will be addressed.

Fusion 8217;99
An education-cum-entertainment event Fusion 8217;99 had been organised by the Newel Institute of Communication Education on March 4 at Jeevanbharati Rangbhavan, Timaliayawad at 5.30 pm.
