Minister to lay stone
For centre
Health Minister Ashok Bhatt will lay the foundation stone of a community health centre in Olpad taluka on Tuesday at 10 am. Olpad health centre8217;s chief trustee Dr Parashar D Shukla will be the chief guest of the function, while Olpad MLA Dhansukhbhai Patel, Surat district BJP chief Pravin Naik and Olpad taluka panchayat president Kantibhai Patel, among others, will be present.

Bhagvat katha
The Swadhayay Mandal Killa Pardi, an institute devoted to Vedic education, has organised a week-long shrimad bhagvat katha to mark 50 years of its foundation. While the function will start from January 3, Sadhvi Ritambara will address the gathering at Braj Dham, Vanita Vishram Grounds for three days from January 3. The donation collected by way of the katha will go towards upgrading the facilities at the Vedic Institute in Pardi.

Scholarships
Mayor Savita Sharda presented merit certificates and scholarships to 44 meritorious students of various schools of South Gujarat at a function organised by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, General Manager of Reliance Telecom Limited Sunil Bandhu spoke on information technology. In his welcome address, senior vice-president of Reliance Industries Limited Hemant Desai said almost every district in Maharashtra had been covered under the Foundation programme.

One-day seminar
Vadodara: Police Commissioner Kuldeep Sharma will inaugurate the One-day seminar, Share Your Experience8217;, organised by the Central Control Room and the Factory Inspectorate on December 16. The seminar, to be presided over by District Collector Anil Mukim, will be held at Express Hotel, R C Dutt Road at 10 am.
