CHANDIGARH, May 7: The Punjab and Haryana High Court today declared May 8 as a holiday in the subordinate courts of Chandigarh Sessions Division, besides the subordinate courts of Punjab and Haryana due to revision of electoral rolls. According to the deputy registrar general, the holiday in the courts here was declared in lieu of June 12, while holiday in Haryana was announced in lieu of October 9.

The Punjab University has declared May 8 as a public holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act on account of the special revision of electoral roll, a press release issued by SK Sharma, Deputy Registerar General, PU said.
