
VADODARA, July 8: Opposing the demand for the resignation of Warden K V R Murthy, students of the N V Hall have urged M S University to allow Murthy to continue as the warden.
More than 50 students of the Faculty of Technology and Engineering met Pro V-C Deepak Kumar De on Tuesday and submitted a letter addressed to Vice-Chancellor Padma Ramachandran condemning the action of the student leaders, who ransacked the Hostel office on Monday. They demanded action against the student mob, instead of the warden whom they described as 8220;a good administrator and a helpful man8221;.
The students threatened a protest if any action was taken against Murthy. Students had damaged window panes and office furniture on Monday. They were protesting against Sunday8217;s incident in which a student was injured in a scuffle with hostel warden.
Meanwhile, Police Inspector Girwan Singh Solanki of the Sayajigunj police station told Express Newsline that four FIRs had been registered against the ransacking students and the police was on their lookout.
