Students hold Bhajan Sandhya

VADODARA, Feb 15: The Faculty of Social Work students organised a Bhajan Sandhya for the slum-dwellers of Pensionpura here on the occasion of Shivratri on Sunday.

One of the alumni of the faculty, Ujjwal Banga said that the purpose of organising such a programme was to entertain the inmates of Pensionpura and also to see to it that they were made to feel that a festival was being celebrated.

The students of the faculty organised it as a part of their assignment also. 8220;The children were only asked to sing the Bhajans so that they felt involved,8221; said Banga. He added that this programme provided them an exposure to the outside people also as there was very rare chance for them to mingle with others.

The slum-dwellers of Pensionpura and Pragati Yuvak Dal also participated in the programme.
