Students highlight India8217;s heritage

CHANDIGARH, Aug 13: Students of Kailash Bahl DAV Centenary Public School, Sector 7, presented a colourful cultural programme today glorifying the rich heritage and spirit of India on the occasion of 51st Independence Day of the country.

Tthe students presented traditional dances of various states. They also recited poems and sang folk songs. A skit depicting the bravery of Indian youth was also staged. Gidda was the highlight of the function. Later, the principal gave mementos to the school prefect and other students.

Meanwhile, students gave various cultural performances at most of the functions organised by the Chandigarh Administration and the Municipal Corporation to celebrate 50 years of Independence.
