FEBRUARY 28: A senior news editor with a leading Gujarati daily was hit by a stone hurled at him while travelling on a Western Railway local train this evening.

The stone hit Ramesh Dave 42 while he moved towards the door to get down as the train slowed down near Borivli station. He was immediately rushed to Bhagwati Municipal Hospital where he was administered first-aid treatment. When the injury was found to be serious he was shifted to a private hospital in Malad where doctors have stated that he might lose his eyesight.A complaint was registered with the Borivli railway police who are investigating into the incident.

With Holi only a couple of days away, water-filled balloons are being increasingly targetted at train commuters both on the Western and Central Railway.
