
Delhi court orders Tandoor murder case hearing
NEW DELHI: A city court has ordered for day-to-day hearing of the Tandoor murder case, in which former Delhi Youth Congress president Sushil Sharma is facing trial for allegedly killing and burning his wife Naina Sahni in an oven in a restaurant here in July, 1995.
Additional Sessions judge G P Thareja has recently issued the order, saying the hearing would be conducted daily from Monday.
Mother kills kids, self in Osmanabad
SOLAPUR: In a gruesome incident, a 33-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping into a well after throwing her four children into it at Lohara in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra yesterday, police said today.
Police say, Khanamabi Khutepad, fed up of frequent quarrels with her husband, committed suicide after pushing her four children 8212; Yasmin 12, Ejaz 10, Fayyaz 8 and Nazneen 3 8212; into the well. After receiving a complaint about their disappearance, police conducted a search and found the bodies in thewell. Police have registered an offence against Khanamabi8217;s husband and his paramour.
One held for raping minor
NEW DELHI: Police on Sunday arrested a person beloning to Badayun in Uttar Pradesh on charges of raping a minor girl here.
Omkar 21, a casual labourer, raped a 16-year-old girl, also from Badaun after luring her to his house in Gandhinagar on the pretext of dropping her at her sister8217;s house in Delhi, police said.
Omkar had met the girl while she was on her way to Delhi after leaving her home in a village in Badayun, following a tiff with her parents.
