CHANDIGARH, Oct 28: Sanjay Public School-44 beat Govt Model School-38 by two goals to nil in under-17 boys group to lift title in the Chandigarh State Inter-School tournament at Govt Model School-22, today. Though GMS-38 shot into the lead through Shamshudin in the later part of the first session, SPS-44 players fought back strongly in the second half and shot twice to grab the title.

Narinder and Ram Vilas netted one each for SPS-44.

Shivalik Public School-41 defeated Govt School-15 by 5-1 to bag third place.

Sunny scored hat-trick for SPS while Gagandeep and Jaspal netted one goal each.

Pankaj shot one back for GSS-15.

SGGS-26 win
Sri Guru Gobind Singh College-26 beat Panjab University Campus 28-12 in the league match in the PU Inter-College men8217;s handball tournament at PU Campus here today.

Hardeep 10 and Naresh Kumar 6 were the main scorers for the winner. Ramandeep with six points was the main goal scorer for losers.

SGGS-26, in their second outing defeated SD College, Sector 32, 35-31, to assert their supermacy in the meet. Gurcharan Singh 12 and Hardeep Kumar 8 mainly scored for SGGS-26.

Devinder Negi with 10 goals top scored for SD-32.

SD-32 got the better of Govt College, Ludhiana, 35-28 and PU Campus outplayed GC, Ludhiana 26-23. SGGS-26 have won two league matches and are expected to win their third encounter tomorrow.

Softball tourney
The 14th Chandigarh Senior State softball championships will be held on October 30 and 31, at Govt Senior Secondary School-23, under the aegis of Chandigarh Softball Association.

The competition will be organised in both men8217;s and women8217;s group.

Basketball camp
The Chandigarh Sub-Junior basketball camp will be held at Sector 7 Sports Complex boys and Dev Samaj School-21 girls from November 2 to 12. The camp will begin at 4 p.m. The final match in the boys category to be held today was not conducted due to unavoidable circumstances.
