NEW DELHI, OCT 4: It was one of those days again at the DTA complex on day one of the main section of the 1999 edition of the DSCL National Hardcourt Tennis hot, humid and totally lacklustre. The day began with the Indian Oil Corporation8217;s top women seeds Sai Jayalakshmy and Rushmi Chakravarthi taking on two visibly overawed youngsters in Delhi8217;s Vishika Chhetri and Simmi Rani respectively.
While Rushmi wasted no time in getting down to business 8212; she demolished the Chandigarh-based Simi 6-0, 6-0 8212; Sai made some heavy weather of the first set for no evident reason before getting a grip on herself and coasting through the second. Sai won 6-3, 6-0.
