Inner Wheel Club of Pune Central celebrated Diwali at Sandhya Home with senior citizens. An entertainment programme was put up by the Inner wheel member8217;s children and girls from Dastur school. All the inmates of Sandhya home and Eventide home received gifts and snacks. The treasurer of the club spoke on banking to the senior citizens. On the occasion of Pulse Polio Day on October 24, Inner Wheel Club members distributed 200 toys as an incentive in three mobile creches. An audio cassette was played in a slum and club members participated in a human chain to spread the message of Pulse Polio Day.

To help cyclone hit people of Orissa the club donated Rs 5000 in cash along with clothes and medicines.

Skanda Shasti Utsavam
Shree Shanmukhananda Sabha celebrated Skanda Shasti Utsavam at Kartikeya temple atop Parvati Hills on Sunday, November 14, with Abhishekam, pooja, Archanai and Deeparadhana to Lord Kartikeya. Nataraja Sastrigal conducted the pooja and the religious programme. P N V Krishnan, president and P R K Moorthy with other committee members organised the entire festival.

Kartik Deepotsav
Kartik Deepotsav lighting of oil Diyas will be celebrated at Untade Maruti Mandir located near KEM Hospital in Rastapeth from Monday, November 22 to November 24 between 6 pm and 9 pm. The three day festival includes Abhishekam, Alankaram, special pooja and Mahaarti. Details of the programme can be taken from the the temple authorities at the temple premises.

Celebration of Anna-Kot festival
Shri Maheshwari Balaji Mandir celebrated Anna-Kot festival comprising display of 61 items of sweet and khara items at its temple premises located in Kasba Peth.

On Monday, November 15, the festival included Abhishekam special pooja and Mahaarti to Lord Balaji. Stotra patan and Venkateshwara Suprabhatam were recited on the occasion. Pandit Satyanarayana Vyas, chief priest of the temple assisted by other devotees performed the pooja function and Mahaarti to Lord Venkateshwara.

Diabetes checkup programme
Senior Citizen8217;s Welfare Association, Mira Society Salisbury Park, will be organising a diabetes checkup programme for Senior Citizen8217;s Welfare Association members and non-members above 30 years old residing in Mira Society Salisbury Park. The programme will be held at the S V Hall, Mira Society, Salisbury Park on Wednesday, November 24, between 4 pm to 6 pm. The programme is being sponsored by Lion8217;s Club of Pune, Indraprashta, courtesy Ashok B Jain.
