* chandigarh:Sidharth of Government High School, Sector 40, cruised into the second round by defeating Vishal of Government Model School, Sector 33, on the opening day of the 23rd Sub Junior (Men) and Third Women Boxing Championship being held at Sports complex, Sector 42, on Friday.
In another bout of the day, Nikhil of Government Model School, Sector 33, prevailed over Mukul of SD Public School 17-13.
In another bout Uday of SD Public School prevailed over Prabhat of SD Club by 2-1 in a close fight. Shubham of Government Model School, Sector 42 defeated Tarish of SD club by 16-12.

Ball badminton tourney today

* chandigarh:The Chandigarh Ball Badminton Association will conduct the 12th Chandigarh Junior State Ball Badminton Championship for boys and girls at Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, today. The championship will be played in a knockout format and a total of sixteen teams including eight boys and eight girls teams will take part in the event. Teams for the 54th Junior National Ball Badminton Championship to be held at Mount Carmel School from December 23 to December 26 will also be selected during the event.

Green field to take on CF Haryana

* chandigarh: GREEN Field Cricket Academy will lock horns with Cricket Federation, Haryana in the last league match of the Otobi Cup Under-19 Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Cricket Federation of India, at Tau Devi Lal Stadium on Saturday.
According to Amarjit Kumar, general secretary, CFI, the second match of the day will take place between Andel Cricket Academy, Panchkula and Federation XI at 11 am.
The final match of the tournament will be played on November 30 at 8:30 am.
