Showcause notices to 3 more Kolkata cops

The police on Monday sent showcause notices to three more police officers for 8220;gross negligence of duty8221; after the suspension of Special Guard of Tollygunj police station whose service revolver was used for slaying a girl student of Visva-Bharati University. 8220;Officer-in-charge of Tollygunj police station Shantipada Roy, Sergeant Goutam Roy and File Monitor Abdul Majid Bapari have been served with showcause notices. They will have to give clarification within 72 hours,8221; said Additional Commissioner IV, Kuldip Singh. The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Detective Department, Bimal Shah has given a preliminary report of inquiry and on the basis of it action has been initiated, Singh said.
