Showing no mercy on his opponent, veteran Subhash Sood downed Vijay Kushwa 65-11, 52-28, 90-2 to make the last 16 in the Delhi State Snooker Championship at the National Sports Club of India.Sunil Bapna defeated Rajbir Singh 27-56, 56-64, 58-19, 72-33, 57-46 in a cliff-hanger to make the pre-quarterfinals.

The Air Force School defeated Army Public School 5-0 in the zonal hockey tournament final. In a one-sided match which failed to raise to expectations, P Arvind of Class 10 scored a hat-trick. Arun Rana and N Robert scored the other two goals.

Anand Mani YMCA and Narayan Delhi Cantt were among the winners in 56-60 kg weight category in the fourth New Delhi YMCA State Karate and Kick Boxing Championship. Other winners in different categories included: 46-50 kg: Naveen ONGC, Vikas Sharma KVNI, Aditya APS, Vikas Verma YMCA, Atul Dev APS and Sunny Aggarwal VIV. Below 20 kg: Nishit Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, Nishant Gupta DAV, Mayank DAV, Vishal DAV, Harish Gogia Noida.
