Having taken the vital lead, India went on to score 46 for the loss of opener V V S Laxman8217;s wicket.

Playing a commanding game, Pakistan outclassed hosts India by 4-1 in the second hockey Test between the two countries, gaining a 2-0 lead in the nine-match series. Sohail Abbas scored two goals while Mohammad Irfan and Asim scored one goal each. Gagan Ajit Singh scored for the consolation goal for India.
Australia win
England8217;s premier strike bowler Darren Gough strained a hamstring as Australia cruised to a four-wicket win in their triangular series match in Sydney. Gough left the field midway through Australia8217;s innings in the day-night game after bowling five overs for 24 runs without taking a wicket.
