India beat Australia
India defeated Australia by 44 runs to reach the semifinals of the Wills International Cup cricket tournament at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka tonight. Chasing India8217;s mammoth total of 307 for eight, Australia were bowled out for 263 in 48.1 overs thanks to an all-round display by Sachin Tendulkar, who grabbed four wickets for 38 runs after hitting up a masterful 141 earlier in the evening.

Match fixing
Veteran Pakistan batsmen Salim Malik and Ijaz Ahmed are likely to be indicted by the one-man probe panel of Justice Mohammad Malik Qayoom appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board to investigate betting and match-fixing allegations, according to a PCB source. The report is expected by mid-November but indications are that enough evidence against the two has been collected by Justice Qayoom.
