Thane Ranking Carrom

The Mangesh Nerlekar and Sunil Shinde Memorial 2nd Thane District Ranking Carrom tournament is being organised by Smruti Mitra Mandal under the auspices of the Thane District Carrom Association from May 23 at Gyanprasarani School, Old Belapur Road, Opp Post Office, Kalwe.

Total prize money of Rs 20,000 will be on offer. There will also be prizes for break-to-finish and block-to-finish from first round onwards.

Events will be held in the open singles and women8217;s singles only. Entries will be accepted until May 21 up until 9.00 p.m. at: Vijay Koli, secretary, Thane District Carrom Association, Batliwala Bldg, Chendani Koliwada, Thane East; Deepak Sports, Brahman Aali, Opp Old Post Office, Bhiwandi, Dist Thane or CKP Hall, Dombivali East, Dist Thane.

Savio Invitational Basketball

The fifth edition of the Savio Invitational Basketball tournament for men will be held at the Don Bosco basketball court from May 25. All matches of this six-day tournament will be played under floodlights.

Top eight teams from Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur are expected to participate in the tournament. Fans will also get a chance to see some international and current and past national players.

District Ranking table tennis

The Ghatkopar Sports Club are organising a District Ranking table tennis tournament under the auspices of the Maharashtra Suburban District Table Tennis Association from June 4 to 8.

Open to all players in and around Mumbai the event offers Rs 25,000 as cash prizes and will be held at the Sarvoday Hospital Hall No 2 and 3, LBS Marg Ghatkopar West.

Entry forms are available Ms Bharat Sports, Near Dr Doshi8217;s Hospital, MG Road, Ghatkopar East. Entries close on May 29 and the draw will be held at the venue on June 1.

Free tennis camp by MSA

Jan Seva Mandal8217;s Mhatre Sports Academy, Mora Village Road, Behind Chandan Cinema, Juhu North will be conducting a free tennis camp on their new asphalt court. The camp is open to players from any age and will be held from June 1 to 7.

Junior tennis tournament

Sher-E-Punjab Gymkhana, Andheri East behind Tolani College are organising a non ranking junior tennis tournament for age groups under-10, 12 and 14 from May 26 to June 2. Entries close on May 23.

Rangnekar Memorial cricket

The Khandu Rangnekar Memorial single wicket cricket tournament will be held on May 25 at Central Maidan, Thane. The competition will be conducted by Sporting Club Committee. Play commences at 9.00 a.m.
