The Supreme Court today rejected Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa8217;s petition seeking a review of its order transferring the trial in two disproportionate assets cases to a special court in Bangalore.

The review petition was rejected by a bench comprising Justice S.N. Variava and Justice H.K. Sema which had, in November last, ordered the shifting of the two cases against Jayalalithaa and four others from a Chennai special court to Bangalore. The SC had reiterated the order in February when it rejected Jayalalithaa8217;s plea for modification of the order.

Jayalalithaa had requested the SC to shift the trial in the Rs 66.67-crore disproportionate assets cases to any state other than Karnataka. The cases were transferred to Bangalore on a petition filed by DMK general secretary K. Anbazhagan.
