CHANDIGARH, Oct 12: The City police today arrested seven persons on charges of causing a dowry death. A case was registered against them yesterday. Pinky, a resident of Sector 40, had reportedly hanged herself to death on Saturday evening. A case of harassment for dowry, conspiracy and subsequent death was registered on the basis of her father Mam Chand8217;s complaint.
City police arrested her husband Deepak, brothers-in-law Vinod and Pradeep, sisters-in-law Madhu Chandel and Indu Sharma and mother-in-law Pushpa. Madhu8217;s husband Shamsher Singh Chandel has also been arrested, police sources said.
