Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has asked Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh to put forward the issues of poor representation of Marathi people in Central jobs and the burden on city8217;s infrastructure due to increasing migration.

8220;If you are going to put forth these issues before the Prime Minister, only then my party will cooperate with you,8221; Thackeray said on the eve of an all-party meeting convened by Deshmukh.

An all-party delegation led by the Chief Minister is slated to meet Governor S C Jamir in Wednesday to convey feelings of people of Maharashtra who have been hurt by campaign against Marathi people in the backdrop of MNS-led agitation against north Indians.

Deshmukh had convened an all-party meet in Mumbai on Monday on the issue. However, key opposition parties, the Shiv Sena and BJP, boycotted it, prompting the government to arrange a similar meeting on Wednesday. However, MNS has not been invited for the meeting.

8220;If you would be using the meetings to show how everything is well on the law and order front, we will oppose it,8221; the Sena chief said.

Deshmukh, facing heat from the Centre over the law and order situation in the backdrop of the MNS stir and killing of a Bihari youth in an encounter, has announced that he would be leading an all-party team to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and apprise him of the situation in the state.
